Cooking

I feel that there are so many positive benefits to a good home cooked meal. In our family we believe in sitting down to dinner together. I
think this is something that has been missing in many people's daily routine lately. Busy lives seem to have cut into eating together and
I believe it's time we bring it back.

Not only is a quality home cooked meal healthier then fast food or processed food but sitting down and having a conversation with the
people you love can never be replaced. I really think kids of today are missing this connection, even if they don't realize it.

My approach to home cooking starts with the ingredients. I really keep it simple with fresh produce, fish, meats and poultry. I find that I
rarely shop in the middle of the grocery store instead focusing on the fresh options provided around the perimeter.

I do not intent to use this section to simply share recipes but instead the process of cooking, the cookbooks I use and new techniques I
learn. I prefer cookbooks that use restaurant quality recipes, not watered down versions for the home cook. Of course there are times
when short cuts are warranted but I believe the best way to improve your cooking skills is to do what the pros do. In my opinion the
results can be tasted in the food.
